The Process Plant Technical Services Superintendent is responsible for the safe and efficient management of the metallurgy, the production metals accounting, the process control development, the continuous improvement programs and related projects, the process systems maintenance and the assay lab.

Main Duties and Responsibilities during the design phase of the project.
Lead the development of all required testing to support the design and engineering of the process plant and water treatment circuits and predict the behaviour of the different systems under various scenarios.
Provide process engineering guidance and coordination, as required to the EP Contractor’s engineering teams to ensure that safety, maintainability and operability aspects are included in the design of the plant.
Contribute during the various HAZOP, risk assessments and model reviews of the project design, ensuring that practical knowledge from operations experience are applied where appropriate and the design provides safe working conditions.
Be part of the process control systems programming team and ensure the program accurately reflect the operating strategies identified in HAZOP. Review control narratives, control strategies and other process control related documents.
Lead the design and implementation of the metallurgical balance programs, LIMS, OSI-PI and other operations and maintenance support programs and interfaces.
In collaboration with supply chain groups, lead the negotiations for reagents and consumables contracts for the supply of first fills and for the operations.
Develop a training and certification program for the metallurgical and assay lab staff.
Contribute in the development of the safety and training programs for the maintenance and operations of the process plant, including (but not limited to) the development of the Standard Operating Procedures, (SOP’s), Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMP’s), Workplace Inspections, Tasks Observations and Training Certification programs.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Mining, Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
10+ years experience in a technical role in process plants. Pressure Oxidation experience is preferred.
Proven track record in developing and implementing safety and training programs.
Experience should demonstrate ability to safely and efficiently manage all activities in the process technical services of complex process plant.
Proficiency in the use of production, maintenance and engineering software systems.
Willing to travel as required.
Above average communication skills, able to speak, read, and write in English.
Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
